Take a picnic and enjoy the tranquility of this beautifully manicured Japanese garden.

Located at the Wellington Caves Complex, the Wellington-Osawano Japanese Garden is the result of a $270,000 gift from the Wellington's Japanese sister city, Osawano.

One of the main features is a man-made mountain from which water cascades down a stream of ponds before winding its way under several bridges to a reflection pool.

A water pavilion sits over the pool. Another feature is a 4.5 meter stone lantern tower donated by firms in Osawano.

Entry is a free and maps are available at the entrance, which give a guide to the many plant varieties in the garden.

Hold your event in the Japanese Gardens

The Osawano Japanese Gardens is a beautiful spot for a wedding, party or any other get together. Catering is available from the Caves Kiosk and the Wellington Caves Caravan Park is onsite to accommodate your guests.

The Wellington Golf Club is also close-by and they cater for wedding receptions and other parties.

Why not be different and get married in The Cathedral Cave with the stunning backdrop of the majestic stalagmite.
