How to get there

Download a map so you can drive yourself to the Burrendong Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.

There are many ways to experience Australia's amazing flora. The Botanic Garden & Arboretum offers a total 'sensory' experience. You can see spectacular and rare flowers, vibrantly coloured bark, the intriguing shapes of buds and fruit as well as kangaroos, echidnas, goannas and even emus!

You may be wondering, "What is an Arboretum"? Well, as a zoo is to animals, an arboretum is to trees. An arboretum is a place where trees and shrubs are grown for people to gently touch the velvety stems, furry leaves, and slippery bark as well as rub the silvery bloom off a bud. Crush a leaf and smell the mint, lemon or bubblegum fragrance or sniff the perfume of a flower. Listen to the eerie sound of wind blowing through the casuarinas, the songs of birds and the rustle of lizards in the leaf litter.

Bring the family, your pushbike, a picnic hamper, bird watching binoculars and your walking shoes to experience and explore nature at its best.  No matter how you do it, when you explore the Botanic Garden & Arboretum you're sure to experience so much more!
