Being an agricultural based community, Wellington's manufacturing is especially tailored to this industry. Education

There are three high schools in Wellington. Wellington High School, St Mary's Central School and the Wellington Christian School all offer wide subject choices. There are four primary schools and a TAFE campus. The surrounding villages of Geurie, Mumbil and Stuart Town also have primary schools.

A number of government departments are represented in Wellington. These include Police in Wellington, Geurie and Stuart Town, Ambulance, Hospital, Court House, Motor Registry, NSW Agriculture, NSW Fisheries, Department of Natural Resources, Catchment Management Authority, NSW Fire Brigade and NSW Rural Fire Service.
